Located on the edge of the Des Moines River Valley in Windom, Minnesota, the Windom Family Medical Center ( WFMC ) has been providing full-service family medical care to area residents since the fall of 1990. The clinic’s sole proprietor, Dr. Jeff Taber, graduated from the University of Iowa Medical School in 1987. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1990. The challenge of a rural hospital “at risk” led him to Windom, Minnesota, where, in September of 1990, he was instrumental in founding the WFMC.
The WFMC is one of four local medical clinics that provide primary care to residents of the greater Windom area and Cottonwood County . The clinic’s physical link to the Windom Area Hospital allows patients ready access to multiple local “outreach” clinics (cardiology, urology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, podiatry, general surgery, gynecology, and more).
